A few months ago my sister Veronica and I started planning our first “Thanksgiving Weekend” here in Frisco/McKinney. This meant ALL of my family would make the trip from the Rio Grande Valley to celebrate Thanksgiving together. Yes, all 5 of my sisters, their husbands, kids (only 1 niece made it) mom and grandma were coming! YAY! We had a fabulous menu planned with lots of fattening goodies and Chris took on the great task of making the turkey. Since my house is a little more spacious, we decided that we would have the lunch at our house. If you know me, you know I love to have parties. I wanted the table to look simple, elegant but beautiful. We set up the table the night before and here’s how it turned out. Believe it or not, the plates are plastic. I found them at Costco and picked them up because dishes would be so much easier on Thanksgiving day.

I also wanted my family to go away with something to remember this Thanksgiving so I asked them to send me a list of what each of their family members was thankful for and made a collage of sorts on Photoshop with their family picture. I had them printed in a 5X7 photo and mounted them on a very inexpensive black frame from IKEA. They turned out really nice. Here are an example...
